Last weekend, my husband's sister and her family came for a visit. We seldom see each other so there were so much to talk about. I asked her what she had been doing lately. She told me that she is making " Pocket-slippers". I became curious and asked her about it. She said, she got the idea after someone gave her " pocket slippers" as a gift. Then I asked her if she could teach me too how to make it. She then write the procedure to me and after two days, I managed to make a pair. It look like a purse actually. It is small. Easy to take with you wherever you go.
But this is how it look like when I put it on my foot.
I showed this pair of pocket slippers at work and an older lady bought it. So I have to make another pair or more. Gift ideas for Christmas:)
This is what my sister- in- law had made.
Anyway, I made more pocket santas in different colors
Well, since the family was almost complete, my husband invited everyone out to eat dinner. Late celebration of his 50th birthday. But since they don't want to be published, I just post me and my youngest daughter picture.
The foods we ordered. I didn't take pictures of all that we ordered since I was disturbing the guests. We were ten people in all. But....hmmm... delicious!
the desserts
my mother-in- law's cake that she brought with her
and my cake
By the way, the day after, me, my sister and brother-in-law and a friend from Mexixo visited the elderly to the nursing home to share God's word and sing for them. After the service, we served foods which made them more happy. I baked this chocolate cake.
my sister made breads with lots of toppings
our friend bake cheese cake
Well, it is winter now, but we can still see colorful sights around like these sunrises outside my window
To attract birds, I put bird feeders in our garden. Birds came. They are my company especially when I am alone. I watched them through my kitchen window.

Saying goodbye with this flower bouquet which I bought for my husband because he has been so kind and sweet to me:)
Thought for the day

Set your mind on the things above,
not on the things that are on earth.

I have those slippers when I was younger that I bought from Baguio. Better than wearing socks and worn around the house. And my oh my, my eyes were just staring at all those desserts reminding me not to eat anything but cakes for buffet later since I am in a conference. I wish I can do Christmas Carols for the orphans or elderly this Christmas. It makes me happy to sing for them. I like how you work with them, you must be truly blessed. Have a great day!

DeleteHi Joy, You asked about my sidebar. If you go into design on Blogger, then go to Layout, then Add a gadget (on your sidebar), than go to image and bring one in from your computer. I get most of my quotes and images from Facebook or from Google Images… Hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteThanks. I can share a pattern, but it is in Norwegian Lorraine. Maybe they have a translation in English if you google pocket slippers.
