God's handspainting!

 Pictures outside my window!

Thoughts to ponder in between
Leadership qualities

Leadership does not depend on being right. - Ivan Illich

Don't accept evil

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

 Be generous

Be generous with kindly words, especially about those who are absent. - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Forgiveness is hard

All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness the important thing is they should be part of our daily lives. - Dalai Lama

Cultivate ideas

Just as our eyes need light in order to see, our minds need ideas in order to conceive. - Nicolas Malebranche

Strength in adversity

When you face the perils of weariness, carelessness, and confusion, don't pray for an easier life. Pray instead to be a stronger man or woman of God. - Luis Palau

Mother-in-law's day!

Yes, on Christmas day, it was mother-in-law's day. It means that we spent the day with her and she was the one who did the cooking. Well, I have nothing against it. She is an excellent cook. Her house is always open for everybody especially me, although I came from  an unknown country, for her before. But through me, she got to know the land and the Philippine's culture.
After eating breakfast at Christmas day, I cleaned our bathroom and toilet. It is not one usually do on Christmas day, but it needs to be done. After that I wrote a post in my blogs and then we went to my mother-in-law's house.

There was no rain or snow. Beautiful sunset when we arrived at my mother-in-law's house.

God's hands painting! Makes one very thankful for the sight.

But look who who  wished us welcome when we came!  A Santa lighting the stairs for us, as if we don't know the way to the door:)

Meet the Christms tree girls. We had been taking pictures beside Christmas trees all the time that soon it will be our new names:)

Surprise! Under Christmas tree is my knitted Mrs. Santa which I gave to my mother-in-law as a gift. She really likes it here:)

Christmas decoration here.

beautiful flowers

Then, dinner again: Roasted lamb, cooked potatoes and carrots, brussels sprouts and gravy sauce.

For our dessert. She must of course contribute to our calorie intake for the day:)

Coffe time! We had to taste her Christmas cookies and coffee liqueur although we are sweet enough before:)

While we were enjoying the calorie bombs, we watched tv at the same time and I crocheted a pair of potholder.

Everything seems so wonderful, but still we have something to remember.
Ending this post with this prayer
Father, let our ears be tune in to you and not to the cares of this world. Fill our hearts with joy as we listen to you. Lift up our downcast souls and let us experience your heavenly presence, so that we will not seek gratification from places that brings us to destruction.
Thank you for always listening to the cry of our hearts and for knowing our thoughts.
Fill this mind of ours with your wisdom and our hearts with your desires so that we won't bring disgrace to your name. I pray in Jesus name.

The day has come..

Yes, we had waited, we were excited, stressed, happy and looked forward for this day. We greeted each other in facebook, blogworld, by phone, skype, and with written cards and finally....

Christmas day!

While the man of the house was busy preparing our dinner, me and my daughter took the chance of taking picture of each other. Ready for the day. No pictures of my hubby and his mother. They just wanted to be at the back of the scenes.

Here was our dinner. A typical Norwegian Christmas food. Spareribs, sausages and meatballs.

Ready to be served. To be eaten with cooked carrots and potatoes, sauerkraut, gravy, cranberries, and prunes

Kamilla is pouring something to drink on our glasses. We had redwine, Chrismas soda, aquavit to choose to drink with the food. I choose the soda:)

This is the wine. My daughter asked me to taste, but one sip was enough for me.

So after saying Happy Birthday Jesus, we savor the foods and we had porridge with red sauce as dessert. Typical Norwegian Christmas dessert.

Chocolate with coffee later.

Anyway, we played scrabble and brainstorming before we opened the gifts.

Here are the gifts that I received this Christmas. Thank you everyone who had given me these presents:)

For cake serving.. reason to bake more.)

A new hair blower. One of my wishes because the one that I am using does not function properly.

winter stockings

Yarn to crochet. One of my wishes come true:)

Tea light holders with decorated matches

gym suits...inspiration to exercise even more:)

My favorite: Jesus was born. The reason of the season. A gift from my sister and brother-in-law.

Finally, what I really need:)

So that was our Christmas Eve celebration. Still wishing everyone " Merry Christmas".

Dinner for today will be at my mother-in-law's house

How about you? How was your Christmas Eve?

Awakening isn't it. We must choose to be happy, no matter what.
Bu this is not the surprise that I am going to tell you. Just found this quote at the shop written in a signboard. The message is for everybody.

This one too. Nice rules to follow.

Anyway, while I was preparing our lunch for today, the postman came with this package.

My hubby asked me if I ordered something from the internet and I told him that I didn't.
So I wondered what it was.

I opened the box and this is what I found inside. A gift box....

and a Christmas card

I found out that the gift was from Grace Hansen, PBO Founder.
I was really touched by her thoughtfulness.

My husband told me that I must not open the gift box because it is not yet Christmas , but my curiousity won:)

Look what I got! A teddy bear with PBO t-shirt. What a lovely suprise! Thank you so much Grace:))) This is a memorable gift for me this Christmas.

By the way, there is a virus that infecting almost everyone in blogworld. Very contagious too.  This virus is called: All I want for Christmas 2013. It is a good virus though and really funny.

First I was tagged by  Marge from :
then by Zaizai from:

The rules
  1. Make a post entitled, "All I Want For Christmas 2013," and please use the photo above.
  2. List 6 things that you want to receive as a gift.
  3. Tag 3 friends who will make the same post (no tag backs).
  4. Send me the link so I could check it too (optional).
At first, I was reluctant to do this because, I do really have everything I need, although not all that I want.

So these are my wishes.

1. For the people to focus their eyes on Jesus, not Santa, gifts or parties.
2. To be with my loved ones.
3. To be able to spread joy and love not only this season, but everyday
4. To be able to participate with PBO 's visit to the elderly in February 2014
5. Yarn and more yarn to crochet and to knit.
6. Peaceful Christmas

So I am tagging:

 fallenrhainnes :

So good luck to them!
