Orange cake!

I am posting now  how I baked the cake I served to the elderly yesterday when we were there to share God's love and inspiring words. They really loved it. It was soft, not too sweet and  with an orange taste. Well, I used both the juice and the the orange peel in my pastry.

Melt 300 grams butter, add 5 dl milk until lukewarm

Put 3 eggs and 75 grams sugar  into a baking bowl

Mix one sacket of powdered yeast to 1,000 grams flour

added melted butter with milk into the egg and sugar

Then add the dry ingredients

Knead the pastry until smooth adding flour if it is necessary

After one hour in a warm place, the dough is ready to work with

I flattened the dough with a rolling pin

Put filling on it which consists of: orange peel from 3 oranges, 200 grams butter, 150 grams granulated sugar, 1 tsp vanilla sugar and 4 tbsp orange juice

Roll

Cut rolled dough into pieces, put into a baking pan and let it rise up for about half an hour. Then brush the pastry with beaten egg

Baked in 200 degrees ca. 30 minutes

And before serving I made an icing from the juice of one orange and granulated sugar and put on top  of my pastry.

And the other ladies brought with them these delicacies too for the elderly.

And  we all said...nam, nam

I will start writing something to thank God in my post and this is for today!

1. Thanks God for providing us something to bless others.
2. For letting me see the sunshine today.
3. For the energy to cut the grass because it is not one of my favorite task.
4. And for all those that take time to read my post.

  3. Looks yummy! Cutting grass has become one of my favorite chores...want to know my secret? I put on my very cheap MP3 player with headphones and worship while I work. I think if people are watching me, they probably think I look crazy! I look forward to my weekly time to meet Jesus!
