Beautiful Norway!

I began sharing the highlights of my life in Norway since I started blogging from september last year. And this blog is one of them.

It was summertime again and this time we spent our vacation in this beautiful land Norway. This place is called Verra Botn. We stopped by to take a rest.

Another stopped over. Nice place along the road:)

The biggest troll I had ever seen. Luckily, he could'nt move. He, he

For those who were ufamiliar with trolls, I found this information from Wikepedia about them. Typical Norwegian tourist attraction.

A troll is a supernatural being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. In origin, the term troll was a generally negative synonym for a jötunn (plural jötnar), a being in Norse mythology. In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings.
Later, in Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, where they live far from human habitation, are not Christianized, and are considered dangerous to human beings. Depending on the region from which accounts of trolls stem, their appearance varies greatly; trolls may be ugly and slow-witted or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them. Trolls are sometimes associated with particular landmarks, which at times may be explained as formed from a troll exposed to sunlight. One of the most famous elements of Scandinavian folklore, trolls are depicted in a variety of media in modern popular culture.

At last we arrived to our destination: Namskogan Zoo.

Lucky for us, there was a swimming pool in the area, so my youngest daughter and I used the pool to cool us down.

Then afterwards, we went out to visit the animals in the Zoo :)

My mother - in -law was with us! At the background was a peacocks cage.

It was an animal inside, but I forgot what it was:(

The ostriches ! They were bigger than my husband. Good that they were inside the fence:)

Our daughter tried to  talked to the goats and they listened. He, he

She tried horse- back - riding, too,  but I would'nt dare.

Father and daughter paddling each canoe.  Well, the river was not so deep.

Tough girl! It  was a four wheels motorcycle.

Time to eat, but they had to feed the bird while we waited for our barbecue...

And what a small world! We met some friends:)

Memories from year 2002:)

                            Lastly: Thought for the day!
