Crumpled paper!

When you see these trees, can you think of them as crumpled papers?
Let me tell you the story!

I was once a tree, standing tall in the ground with other trees, created by God. Nourished by rainwater and the rays of the sun. Tormented by storms, floods and strong winds, but we strove to stand.

We were a shelter for many. A canopy and habitat for wildlife. Our shadows comforts the travelers from the heat of the sun. A shield for ultra violet rays. We clean the air by absorbing odors and pollutant gases. We provides oxygen. Makes the atmosphere cooler. We bring healing and serenity to the weary souls.  Marks the seasons: Spring, summer, fall and winter.

Then one day,   we were sawed, to be used for other purposes. To build houses or boats. To make furniture or to provide heat in wintertime.  To be made as sheets of papers, where you can write your stories. Stories to touch other’s lives. To make the readers laugh, cry, angry, inspired, irritated, informed or wiser. Papers to be crumbled, thrown into the ground and to be burned in flames and be reduced to ash.

I am thinking about my life. Our lives. We are all like trees created by God. Who needs water and the heat of the sun to live. Tormented by the storms of life. Knocked down many times, but rises up again and again.

We too can provide a shelter for many. To protect the tame and the wild animals. Comfort each other who undergoes pressures in life. We are also absorbers of good and bad, but we can choose to bring healing and serenity to one another. We can mark the seasons by the way we dress or live our lives.

We can also be torn to pieces by problems, trials and difficulties in life. But those things are part of life that can make us stronger and  wiser.

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”

The most beautiful people I've known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

The Lord's mercy often rides to the door of our heart upon the black horse of affliction.”

Each and everyone has a story to tell. Some choose to describe theirs on papers. To make a difference. To voice up frustrations, cry for help or to change lives.  But like papers, we can also be burned in flames. Flames not never dies. Stories to be forgotten...

The good thing is, unlike the trees or papers, we can avoid to be burned in eternal flames. The same God who created us is the same God who can save us from torture if we put our lives in His hands.  To let him be the author of our stories and let him mold us to a person who brings life to this dying world.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24

This is a beginning of a new day
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is important as I am
exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever.
Leaving something in its place, I have traded for it.
I want gain, not loss—good, not evil.
Success, not failure,
in order that I shall not forget the price I paid for it.
Paul William “ Bear” Bryant

Dear God, I thank you that although I was like a crumpled paper, dirty and thrown into the ground and ready to be burned in flames, but you picked me up, cleansed me, ironed my wrinkles, erased my failures, and made me usable again. Thank you for giving me a new start. To write a new story. A love story written on a piece of paper that will not be crumpled again.

                                                     Words to ponder

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1 John 5:11

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
2.Peter 1:3

  6. Enjoyed reading your story. It's true. Now a days there are no trees. People are not interested to grow trees. They build houses in all places.

  8. Very nice post, Joy, and so much for all of us to ponder and learn from. Yes, we are like TREES.... However, we do have minds and can make choices --whereas trees are there for others to use. They cannot stand up for themselves and make their own choices like we can... Thanks be to God for US ---and the choices we make in our lives. God Bless us ALL.
    Hugs,
