Stormy and freezing cold, but still thankful!

Hi friends! Hope you are doing fine. Here in my place, one can get depressed by this ongoing storm for almost a week now. Minus degrees and chilling to the bone. The wind is blowing so hard that it takes my breath away eveytime I'm out just for a few seconds. From my house, into my car and off to work. It feels that the wind has its way to creep into the innermost part of my body.  But, my name is Joy and I have to look for things that can make my days merry. Be thankful for all the blessings from God instead. I am alive and I can  still see, hear, taste and do things with my hands.

Being thankful for these flowers that are still blossoming after a week  since I received them.

For my friend's orchids

soon to blossom flower ( Amarelius)

For dinner that my mother-in-law made for me. Chicken wrapped in bacon, with salad and rice.

fruit cocktail with cream for dessert

My dinner yesterday

For being able to bake fruit muffins for the elderly, which they liked very much.

Thanking God for giving me hands to crotchet these potholders. Colorful one!

Green one ( made one like this before)

Blue one

Knitted wine bag. It is not finished yet....

And now, I am just sitting beside our fireplace and enjoying writing to you.

How about you?  How was your week?

Leaving you this thought

If you feel useless...
For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus
to do good works,
which God prepared
in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

  2. Yes, we still should be thankful - in spite and despite of. No matter what is the condition of our surroundings as long as we aren't too crippled to do things we need to do, it's far from worse. And as long as we have the faith that scenario like this shall come to pass, everything is fine. On a positive note, though it's far from our comfort zone, it's still God's way of reminding us that if we won't care much for our planet, much worse will happen. It's like an awakening that whatever excessive that we do, there's always a corresponding consequence that follows.

  11. Hi Joy,
Thanks for share such a nice post today. Where I live is sooo cold too. But I try to enjoy it anyways, since there is beauty all around me and all I have to do is open my eyes and see. It is good that you see the positive side by being grateful for nice and small details which after all are the most important things in our lives. Stay cozy my friend, time flies and very soon Spring will be here. Thanks for visiting my blog.
    Hugs
