Second hand!


Yes it is me...second hand, used and re-used and renewed.

 
Yes, there is hope for everyone.....or everything?

What I mean with that?

Well, me and my friend went to a second hand shop, but it looks like a new shop for us judging the appearance of the place.



                                                     Everything seems new!

But not all. Here is a blurred picture in one corner of the shop. Stuffs that they are selling for a give away price.


And look what I found that I bought!

 And a treasure. A relic which my friend would love to have, but I saw it first.


   I bought also a set of cups and saucers for a very low prize. Anyway, I was happy to purchase those second hands things which new for me and can re- use again.

 Talking about old things or ancient, these pictures were sent by my daughter who is in Mexico right now. She went there  ( Chichen Itza) with other students.

                                                             Chichen Itza

 which means “at the mouth of the well of Itza “, is the 2nd most visited archeological site of Mexico today. The Kukulkan Pyramid in Chichen-Itza which known as “El Castillo” (the castle), is one of the new seven wonders of the world elected in 07.07.2007. It is exactly 24 m. high considering the upper  platform. Apart from the Kukulkan Pyramid, in Chichen Itza there many other archaeological sites to visit, all carrying traces from Mayan Culture in many ways. 

My daughter told me that  Chichen Itza is  a ruinby in Yucatan. The buildings (pyramids) are ruins from the 1800s. But it has been rebuild again and again to this day, to keep them. No one lives in the actual Chichen Itza, but it was a sacred place for the Maya Indians.



I believe this is an old method of twisting wool....

And now my daughter second from the right.  A happy student in a place where the sun shines almost all year round. School area!

    Aren't 2nd hand shops just AWESOME... Someone else's 'junk' can be our TREASURES!!!!!! Right????

    You have a beautiful daughter... Look at those suntans... Wow!!!! She takes great photos --and it looks like she is having a great time in Mexico.

    I admit me and my sis loves to go to Løppemarked, she loves house decorations and stuff and I love electronic gadgets! I always have coins in my purse hihi. Btw the things you bought doesn't really looks used, I would have bought some for me if I was there. The red muebles looks elegant!

    That shop looks really elegant though they're selling second hand items! Well, what you got actually looked brand new!

    I would love to see that Kukulkan Pyramid! Your daughter's looking good, she seem to be having fun at school..

      Oo nga joanne. Mayayaman kasi almost mga tao at palit ng palit ng gamit. So marami talagang treasures sa ganyang shop dito. Kung may lalagyan pa ko sa bahay, may mga appliances pa na ang mura talaga.

    Wow, Joy. You got lovely finds. I like crochet but do not have the time for them anymore. Perhaps when I retire and my fingers could still twine the needles, I pray! He he he.

    It would be nice to copy those designs.

    And so nice to see your daughter in a Sunshine-all-year long country and a very historical place to visit. She is so tanned now.

    it's a real nice place for a second hand shop. pati mga finds mo ang gaganda. dito satin pag ukayan medyo "alam mo na"... lol.

    seems like your daughter is having the time of her life in Mexico. lucky her! the Chichen Itza looks magnificent.

    I love going to secondhand shops and seeing such treasure. There are a lot of great finds that you can't find in an ordinary store. :) It's great how your daughter is enjoying Mexico. I love the photos. Take care! :)

    Nice buy Ms Joy! The cross is indeed a treasure, good thing you found it first :) Ang ganda sa Chichen Itza, pero mas maganda pa din ang daughter mo, mana sa mommy :)

    You found treasures! I always wonder who can get rid of precious crocheted items. Loved seeing the pictures from your daughter and seeing such tanned, happy faces. I need to learn the truth of the quote.

    I love all the things you bought, Joy! I go shopping at the second hand shop sometimes.

    Wow, those things look good for second hand. I love the red and green crochet pot holders, they are so cute!

    The Chichen Itza looks amazing! For a moment I thought it was taken from Machu Picchu in Peru. Didn't know there is such a beautiful archeological site in Mexico. Your daughter is lucky that she gets to see it herself.
