A discerning eye

A DISCERNING EYE

Pictures last night borrowed from a friend who captured the moment

Nowadays, we can see a lot of amazing pictures, but mostly they had been edited by today’s computer technologies, or apps and photo editing programs that are available to be downloaded from the internet. One can make magic in every caption.

Pretty like this world that makes everything seems nicer, more attractive, and more enticing. Those things temp more than God’s kingdom and His Word. Many have that picture that going through the narrow gate is difficult. One must give up everything, self-will and thoughts, and life. So, they choose the broader road although it leads to death, and hopes that everything will be alright anyway.

But what is so important with our lives and everything we have? We are going to lose everything one day anyway.

But if we give our lives to God, our lives will be taken care of. Whatever happens, we are under His care. And to have God as the one who can take over our lives is amazing because He is the source of life, love, light, healing, deliverance, and wisdom that overcomes everything and do amazing things. Our lives will be changed from the dead to life.

God’s kingdom versus the world’s kingdom. One leads to life and one leads to death. But tragic enough… people choose more the road to death coz they don’t want to believe, they don’t want to have other gods than themselves. Doing their own way and thinking that it is their lives, and no one should have control over them. But there are only two things to choose from. Good or bad. Eternal life with God or eternal destruction.

Many though are blinded. They laugh at those who believe or stumble over believers who are not better than them.  In addition, there are many religions that proclaim that they are the right ones. But Jesus say He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except by Him.  John 14:6. And why we should believe Jesus? Because all gods of other religions are dead, but Jesus lives.

Everyone is prior to being blinded by the enemy. Some choose religion than a relationship with the true God. Some sincerely believe that they are on the right path but are sincerely wrong because they seek the truth in other places than the Living Word of God.

Jesus said to his disciples: “ Take heed that no man deceives you.” Matthew 24:4

Those Words applies also to everyone today. Believers and unbelievers are prone to be deceived.

Believers should evaluate everything in the light of God’s Word and by the leadings of the Holy Spirit. We need a discerning eye because our lives are at stake. It is not only enough to believe. We must live what we believe.

Unbelievers should seek the truth in order to avoid destruction at the end.

Prayer: Dear God, make everyone’s eyes discern the truth. Our hearts to long and follow the truth. Lord, take control over our lives so that we will not be taken over by the enemy. Let us not believe the lies of the devil and his cunning devices no matter how beautiful he portrays his pictures because it leads to death.

I pray that we will not edit and twist Your Word for our own purpose. Instead, I pray that we will be changed by Your Word unto Thy purpose.  I pray in Jesus' name. Amen
