It was this day that I wish the sun would shine, but alas..no. The rain poured down and it made the day darker.
Anyway, it didn't stop me from attending one important day for a young man.
On the way, I saw this flock of moose, so I stopped driving to take pictures of them.
It seemed that they like posing for me:)
Still, it rained and rained as you can see!
After 40 minutes driving I came to this place which is called Jøssund.
That is how it look like there.
But my main purpose was to attend a confirmation of the son of Gemma. A friend of mine.
Here was the church where the confimation was held.
The church was build beside the seaside
The graveyad
flowers at the entrance of the church
This was how it looks like inside the church. A very small church actually.
When I arrived, there were only a few people in church yet.
But those that were having confirmation that day were already present.
Special chandelier
The mass started at eleven o'clock and as you can see the confirmands began their march to the altar
One of them was John. Gemma's son. It was his confirmation day which here in Norways is a big event for 15 year olds.
The mass was finished after more than an hour. Then we drove to the place where the celebration would be held.
At the entrance was John's picture when he was younger.
me....
Typical with us Filipinos are that we always lend a helping hand in the kitchen if it is needed, as you can see!
Let us take a look of the food that were served..
There were so much food for ca 50 visitors. I didn't get the chance to take pictures of all the foods because we were asked to sit down already.
Then we were welcomed by the father and the son.
Here is Gemma and her other son
Gemma's daughter in white and the other has also a Filipina mother.
These are the dessert
The guest from both far and near!
Some came from England
Like these two realtives of Gemma.
The Englishman together with John and a friend.
Ladies in red. The mothers....
of these two sweet young ladies. Are they alike?
The best part...opening the gifts...lots of money
So here was John's cake
and here were the other cakes. There were 22 kinds of different cakes
Mother's speech for the son....very touching...
At the end, John thanked everyone for the gifts and for making this day special for him.
Ending this post with this picture which shows how happy mother and son were just like we were.
A memorable day for everyone:)

Hi Joy! As always, your photos are lovely, and that church is beautiful. We had very heavy thunderstorms here in Montreal today, and many people lost their power. Hopefully by now they have it back.
