The power of prayer!

A Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble,
but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout.

Do you know why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the Rearview Mirror
is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. Look
ahead and move on.

Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes
years to write.

All things in life are temporary. If things are going well, enjoy it, they
will not last forever. If things are going wrong, don't worry, they can't last
long either.

Old friends are gold! New friends are diamonds! If you get a
diamond, don't forget the gold! Because to hold a diamond, you
will always need a base of gold!

Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from
above and says, "Relax, sweetheart, it's just a bend, not the end!

When God solves your problems, you have faith in His abilities;
when God doesn't solve your problems, He has faith in your abilities.

A blind person asked a wise old man "Can there be anything
worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes, losing your vision!"

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them,
and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone
has prayed for you.

Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes away
today's peace.

Got this description of prayer from a friend that I thought worth sharing. Be inspired and be blessed:)

Dirty, dirty, dirty

I don't know why, but in Norway before Christmas time, it is a tradition to clean the whole house from the ceiling, to the walls and to the floors. And not only that, they clean the cabinets inside and out. We call it general cleaning :) So today I started cleaning all the cabinets in the kitchen. It looks clean and nice when I opened the cabinets, but when I take out all the things that were inside, then the dirt became visible. And I used wet cloth to wiped the surfaces inside the cabinets. Afretwards  the wet cloth became dirty. My cabinets surely needs cleaning.

Then I thought that as humans, we too used take a bath, to  make us clean in our outward appearances. We don't like to be dirty. We want to smell good all the time. But how about our innermost being? How do we clean our soul, body and spirit? Coz I am pretty sure that they are being polluted everyday by what we hear, what we see and and what we  feel. And if we are not going to be cleaned and renewed, at the end the garbage that we are taking in will pollute us, and the people that we meet everyday. But there is no impossible with God. He said:

It means that we have to talk with God. Reason with God. And how do we do that? Of course by reading His words and in prayer. And the Bible is a thick book, so it may take some time, but we need to be renewed by His words  everyday.

Think how easy it is to be cleaned by God. We don't need water and soap at all. We only have to talk with God about it and we shall be cleaned.

Or we can  follow the advise of this dear old woman:)

 And to remain clean :

My provisional Christmas Tree

In Norway, they don't decorate their Christmas trees so early.  It is a tradition to decorate the Christmas tree on the 23rd of December. And for me it's quite late. And so I tried to make my provisional Christmas tree. So I cut a branch from my lilac tree.

There is no leaves on the tree in wintertime, but I just needed the branches to make my provisional tree.

This is how this tree looks like in summertime.

And this is how my provisional Christmas tree looks like. Not so fascinating, but I was amazed
one day when I saw that the leaves began to sprout. There is no root in this branch that I cut, but the  warm temperature inside the house makes the leaves to popped up. so I thought that it will be needing water, so I put water in the pot. Then it can continue to grow.

Who knows, maybe the flowers will come too:)

This too can happen to us if  we are  connected to God. We need Him coz He is the source of life and to meditate his words to make us grow. We too can flourish. Because God said:

Think how wonderful it will be if we succeed in everything we do!  That no matter where we are, we can blossom and bear fruit.  It does not matter what kind of temperatur we are into. If we trust God and have confidence in Him, we will always be full of life :)
Coz He promised

Well, soon I will be decorating my real Christmas tree, but for now I can just enjoy my sprouting provisional Christmas tree :)

Why I believe!

Why I believe God when lots of people don't!

I believe God because:
* I was in darkness, but He showed me the light

* I was lost, but now I'm found

* I was weak, but now I find strength in God

* I was filthy, but was purified by God

* When evertything is hopeless, I find hope in God

* When everthing is in turmoil, I find peace in God

* When I'm sick, I can find healing from God and His grace is sufficient for me

* When I am in doubt, He assures me that He is alive

* When I lack wisdom, He said that He provides for those who ask

* When I feel unworthy, He assures me that I am worthy to be loved

* When I am angry, He calms my soul

* When I sinned, He tells me to repent and I can be forgiven

* When my body is aching and I'm feeling old, He gives me new strength so that I can soar my wings like an eagle

* If I can't forgive, He tells me that I should, coz I too was forgiven

* He helps me to understand, when there is chaos inside and around me

* He shows me the way, when I don't know the right way to go

* He gives me the desires of my heart according to His will

* He helps me to see the light behind the dark clouds of my life

* He promised me that I can do all things through Him who loves me

And most important of all, He has given me life !

And my question for you: Why do you believe in God? Or why not?

Mirror, mirror on the wall!

If there's a thing that we can't live without, so it's the mirror. We can't go anywhere without first looking at the mirror. And maybe once in a while we ask too " Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?"

The well known question from the evil stepmother of Cinderella. She wanted to be the fairest of them all and the mirror always told her that she was, until one day. Cinderella had grown up and she became the fairest of them all.

But comparing does not only happen in fairytales. It happens also in real life. Like ours! In fact when we were born, our parents already compares us with other babies. Although they say that in their eyes, we are the most beautiful baby in the world.  But they just can't help it. Many times they ask questions to compare like:
-Does your baby sleeps whole  night or not.
- What  kind of milk the baby gets. Expensive or cheap?
- Who learn to crab or go first
- Who learn to talk first
- Who has the nicest clothes

And then we grow up, and our parents do everything to help us so we can be the best. And then more comparisons
- Whos the prettiest?
- Whos the most clever
- Who goes to private or public school
- Who recieve more honors and medals

And then comes the adolescence age. Here it is not only  the parents that compares.  Now we too compare and compete with each other. We want to be the best, we want to be the person that everybody likes, we want to be the best dressed, the most popular and so on.

Then we get matured, but still competing and comparing.
-Who has the best job
- who has the best furnitures at home
- who has the nicest or biggest house
- who has the most expensive car
- who has more money
- who has been to many different places
- who has acquired more

But we can't help it. We want to be the best. But God said that:

So we must not compare. And if we lack something, God promised that we only need to:

So the next time we look at the mirror, we can say " Mirror, mirror on the wall, I may not be the fairest of them  all, but I am unique that Jesus loves  and provides for.
