Precious moments with my mother!

Yes, I said precious because I can seldom be with her. I am missing her much now.
Last March, I went to the Philipines to visit my family there and celebrated my 51th birthday.  My daughter fetched my mother from her home and drove her to Max Restuarant where the whole family gathered. She was surprised of course to see everybody. I believed it made her happy.
My mother is  a person that really don't talk much, but we can see her love through her gestures. What strucked me though was to see my mother getting older and weaker. I was used to see her strong  who worked like a man to support us when we were young and took good care of my children when they were small while I work abroad. My heart ached for her. Longed to make her happy although for a short time.

This picture was taken from my birthday celebration with my mother and three of my 5 sisters.

After that we went to La Luz in Batangas with the whole family again. You can see how happy we were. But then our mother told us that she believe that it will be the last time that she can go with us in out of town trip because she can barely walk now.

Then after that, we visited my father's grave. It is not often my mother can do so because she lives in the province of Laguna now and our father's grave is in Valenzuela. It will take 4 to 6 hours drive.
In the picture is my oldest daughter, me, my mother and four of my six grandkids.

Then we went home to Laguna and visit a resort nearby as you can see. My older sister was with us too!

After visiting the resort, we ate our dinner in " Isdaan Restaurant"

My sister, mother and two grandkids!

And now, this is where my mother lives. Me and my sister spent some days there and loved every minute of it. To eat our mother's cooked meals which we missed so much and to relax and just be with her. Precious moments!

My grandchildren came to visit their great grandma too!

the view at the back of the house

Our mother loves flowers as you can see in the pictures.

She loves fruits too. So we bought  a lot!

In front of the house. The neighbors was drying the rice grains under the sun!

my mother''s papaya tree

Saying goodbye with this sunset taken from my mother's veranda!

It reminds me of my mother's life. I hope I can prolonged more of her life with many years more so that we can spend many precious moments together. I just want to thank my mother for everything that she had done for me and for my children.  I pray that God will be with her eveyday to give her strength and be sourrounded  with his protection.  I love you mother and miss you. Until we meet again.

                                                         JOY

  4. So fitting for Thailand since we will be celebrating Mother's Day this coming Monday in commemoration of the Queen's birthday. Blog them all here since it is the smiles she shared to all you that will be forever remembered.

I can actually name all the flowers in the picture. My mom loved them as well and I think she is all happy in Heaven.

  13. That's really sweet. When we were kids we used to think of our mothers as bitter disciplinarians. But as we grow old we finally understand the reason behind her inquisitive behaviour and stern discipline- it out of love and the fear of letting us be harmed by ourselves. And she simply has that big love for us.

    Thank God for mothers!

Truly i think your mother feels rewarded for having you as her daughter.

Of all the pictures I saw here, the rice grains being dried under the sun hit me the most. That's how my hometown looks like during harvest time. It's really a peculiar. But that is one of the many oddities that make Laguna really beautiful.

I'm in a nostalgic mood right now. Hehehehe!

  21. Hi There, I'm back after a big birthday week. Trying to catch up a little on my blogging.

This post almost made me cry--missing my mother also.. Mine died in 1991 --but I still miss her terribly. You have a beautiful mother who raised AWESOME children...

It is hard to see our parents get older though.. My sweet father-in-law (who will be 101 soon) does not have a good quality of life... It's sad to see him deteriorate.

Thanks for a great post about your wonderful mother.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  25. Wow, great to see most of your family and your mom. Laguna is beautiful with the rice fields in acres of land.

My mom also lives in NY and I see her once each year. I hope they will be coming home next year. She is now 84.

Yes Joy, it is great t be able to spend time with family especially our moms when we know they are nearing their sunset but God is the only one who knows when is the time, even for us.

Blessings to you and your family.
