Stormy and freezing cold, but still thankful!

Hi friends! Hope you are doing fine. Here in my place, one can get depressed by this ongoing storm for almost a week now. Minus degrees and chilling to the bone. The wind is blowing so hard that it takes my breath away eveytime I'm out just for a few seconds. From my house, into my car and off to work. It feels that the wind has its way to creep into the innermost part of my body.  But, my name is Joy and I have to look for things that can make my days merry. Be thankful for all the blessings from God instead. I am alive and I can  still see, hear, taste and do things with my hands.

Being thankful for these flowers that are still blossoming after a week  since I received them.

For my friend's orchids

soon to blossom flower ( Amarelius)

For dinner that my mother-in-law made for me. Chicken wrapped in bacon, with salad and rice.

fruit cocktail with cream for dessert

My dinner yesterday

For being able to bake fruit muffins for the elderly, which they liked very much.

Thanking God for giving me hands to crotchet these potholders. Colorful one!

Green one ( made one like this before)

Blue one

Knitted wine bag. It is not finished yet....

And now, I am just sitting beside our fireplace and enjoying writing to you.

How about you?  How was your week?

Leaving you this thought

If you feel useless...
For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus
to do good works,
which God prepared
in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

What does the fox say?

Lately, I heard a lot about the fox. Then one day I found him...

in this book

So, I made my own fox, not so nice as the original but....

good enough for me:)

Well, what I can I say? The sun was up today and add more colors to my flowers.

Made me hungry too, so I baked pizza

I guess my birds are happy with their nuts.

But the bigger ones feasted on my neighbor's trash can.

Opps, they were discovered:)

Leaving you with this words
Luke 9:38
Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Will you give Jesus a place in your heart?

Finding treasures!

It is Sunday and it is meant to be a day of rest, but I had to change bed sheets and so on. Well, I hope that God understands. Anyway, I already talk to him this morning in prayer and devotion.
Anyway, while I was cleaning my bedroom, I noticed this doll. Then memories.....
Actually, I made her her dress for 22 years ago and since I didn't have dolls when I was a child, this doll is very precious to me. Then I looked for the other ones...My treasures.

Leaving you with this words..

Matthew 6:19-21

Treasures in Heaven

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Here comes the snow again!

So I have to feed my birds:)

Weekend  again and lots of things to be thankful about like New year's lunch at work!

Let us forget the diet just for this time:)

Ending this post with this poem that was written by someone dear to me.

Dreamer

In dreams I live again,
and dwell in fragrant spring,
rose filled skies begin to rise,
for hearts' wider blossoming.

Poetry is for dreamers,
dreamers who'd die for love's cost,
And I'm a dreamer who die for you
for you the one I love the most...

Have a nice weekend friends!
