Meeting the famous!

I haven't dream that one day in my life I will have this chance to meet these two famous persons. Father and son. And not  only that.  I have been given the chance to hug them many times today. It was like a dream come true. Hearing them sing alive was unforgettable.

I am talking about Christian from the famous band A1 and his father who came to the activity center where I work to entertain the elderly. Here they are. For those that didn't know. They are Norwegians.

Actually, it was the father who was going to hold the concert. But Christian came too to help his father with the sound system. What a nice gesture from a famous son.

His father Stien Ingebrigtsen has been famous in his time too.

Stein Ingebrigtsen (born August 23, 1945 in Namsos) is a Norwegian singer, guitarist and songwriter. Stein Ingebrigtsen has had success in six languages: Norwegian, Swedish, German, English, Italian and Spanish. He has recordings in Norway, Sweden, USA, Japan and Germany (stage name Stein Refugees, on the record label Telefunken). He was nominated for a Grammy Award for three consecutive years in 1973-1975. ( From wikipedia)

He said that he is now a pensioner, but still like to sing once in a while. And that made us all happy.

And of course I wouldn't missed the chance to have a souvenier with them. It is once in a lifetime opportunity.

Well, I am really a lucky woman:)

Christian asked me which country I came from. When I told him from the Philippines, he said that he knows the country. They had a concert in Araneta Colosseum for not so long ago.

Anyway, they came one and half hour earlier before the concert and since we were going to play bingo with the elderly that time, I asked if they want to join us. And guess what? They were willing to join:)

And  so the first winner was Christian. I did not do it in purpose:) He was just lucky. And the prize was chocolate. He was happy about it. He said so.

And after the concert, he said that it was nice meeting me because  I am a woman full of joy and energy that I spread those traits to the people around me. That was the nicest word I heard for me from a famous person. I thank him so much and I said that I will keep his words in my heart. I also thank him for his kindness to give his time for the elderly.
And he sung songs for us both in Norwegian and English which he composed himself. Although he has been away from the counry in many years, he didn't change. A humble and a kind person who really sees one in the eyes when he talks to one and really listens. This guy really touched my heart.

Then I got an autograph too from him and his father.

This from Christian. He wrote it in Norwegian. It means " To Ligaya! A big hug from Christian
 ( His signature)

                                                     and from his father.

And saying goodbye with these flowers that I used to decorate the tables for the occasion:)

How about that! Time goes so fast. We are now in the month of June. Summer month in Norway and wedding month for those who wants to be June's bride.

But I am not going to talk about summer and weddings but God's inspired words and birthdays for this month.

                                                         J is for Joy

Experiencing the joy of forgiveness.

Romans 4:7-8
Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.

U is for Unselfishness
A measuring stick of our love

Matthew 10:42
And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because they are my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.

N is for needs

Meeting other needs’ demonstrates love

Luke 6:35-36
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

E is for Emotions
Don’t be afraid to show yours

John 11:33-38
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked.
“ Come and see, Lord,” they replied.
Jesus wept.
Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”
But some of them had said. “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”
Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.

Trip to Stavanger ( part one)

A repost from my Joy's life  blog that I created when this blog was not functioning as it should be. But now it is updating again. I will be moving my entries from there to share to my followers here.  Thanks to all who followed Joy's life blog too.

I've been hearing a lot about this town since my younger sister moved there and her two older daughters. They say that this city is beautiful. So I wanted to visit them and also see the place. Luckily, one day, an  opportunity came. We got an invitation.

Anyway, this picture is from Stavanger city. It was raining that day, so the picture was not clear.

This occassion brought memories to me.

In 1989, I came to Norway to be an au- pair for my two nieces that time, because my sister was going to school.

This is how we looked like in the year 1989. The oldest is Lindsey  and the second daughter is Cecilie. My first winter in Norway.

Fast forward... meet Lindsey now with her oldest and adorable son . She is now pregnant with her second child and living in Kragerø with her family.

Say then hello to Cecilie with her sweet baby Vilde. They invited us to participate in Vilde's baptismal day. That was the opportunity that we grabbed, that is why me and my daughter went to Stavanger.
Isn't Vilde sweet? She smiled to everybody and was so nice to us strangers:)

How fast the time flies. It feels like yesterday.

Do you want to see the mother and the aunt many years ago?
Here we are: Lida (the mother of Lindsey, Cecilie and Tracy Ann) and me in December 1989

Then we became older and older:) Lucky we!
Lida, my younger sister and me now.  Tracy Ann at the back of the litttle girl, right side.

Anyway, we arrived at Stavanger Friday evening. It was raining that day. Strange because the pilot told the passenger " Welcome to Sola Airport." Sola means " sun" in English. Well, that is the name of the airport:) And I thought that he( the pilot) was speaking the dialect of the place. But when I asked my daughter, she told me that the pilot is a Swedish.  Shame on me!

Cecilie fetched us at the airport and  proceeded to her lovenest. How nice of her.

Well, I fell in love with their living room......

                                 and the kitchen.
Tracy Ann and Kamilla in the picture. They stayed at Cecilie and her husband's home.

The dining room was beautifully decorated by Cecilie.

Afterwards, Cecilies husband drove me to my sister Lida's home.

We were so happy to see each other again. She played piano for me. She is gifted by God with a lovely voice and can play both the guitar and the piano. And then we talked and talked and talked until midnight.

Day after, she served this mouth watering breakfast for me. I am a lucky woman:) Don't you agree?

more to come in the next entry.....
